Do you like snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, and turtles?? Join us to meet some of these amazing live reptiles and amphibians and see them up close! Learn about these remarkable animals and how they they are uniquely adapted to their habitats.
Tickets are required for all programs. They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program begins. Pick up your tickets at the Fairbanks Library service desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals must be present in order to pick up a ticket. Everyone attending the program must have a ticket to be admitted. Our programs are ticketed to ensure the safety of our program attendees and the requirements of our presenters.
There will be two identical sessions: one at 3:00 pm and a repeat session at 4:00 pm. Seating is limited, so we ask that you please plan to attend only one session in order to leave space available to others. We will start seating attendees at 2:45 pm for the program starting at 3:00 pm. We will start seating attendees at 3:45 pm for the second session of this program starting at 4:00 pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adult must remain with their child during the program. This program is for children preschool through elementary age and their caregiver(s).
This program will be held at the Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club Meeting Room located across the parking lot from the Fairbanks Branch Library.
This program is presented by Becca Franco, Cy-Fair ISD Nature Trail Guide and assisted by Erin Ryan, CFISD Nature Trail Guide. Animals courtesy of the CFISD Science Resource Center. Ms. Franco works as a Nature Trail Guide and as a technician in the Science Resource Center (SRC) for CFISD in support of the SRC museum, exhibit and classroom animals and programs.
The SRC houses animals ranging from Mammals such as racoon, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, hamsters and rabbits; Birds such as quail, ring-neck dove, budgies and society finches; Amphibians such as newts, tree frogs, African clawed frogs, various toads; and Reptiles such as box turtles, red leg tortoises, various geckos, legless lizard, bearded dragons, corn snakes, milk snakes, sand boas, ball pythons, kingsnakes and more.
